Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

Ensure that all products, components and materials received at Booyco Electronics are inspected, measured and verified according to our Acceptance Quality Levels (AQLs) and processes. For any non-conformances (NCRs), the Suppliers are to be engaged according to our NCR Process and systems through the SHEQSys Platform.


Education, experience, and competencies:

  • Matric and Qualification in Quality Inspection / Quality Control / Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001)
  • Experience and knowledge regarding ANSI ASQ Z1.4 quality acceptance criteria and tables.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality inspection.
  • At least 1 year of experience in supervision of Receiving Quality Inspectors.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Reading and interpreting Electronic Specifications, Mechanical Drawings, Wiring and Loom Diagrams.
  • Experience and knowledge of managing an NCR store.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office) and QMS through SHEQSys
Responsibilities

Quality Inspection:

  • Ensure the Receiving Quality Inspector/s performs detailed inspections of electronic components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with technical drawings / diagrams and quality standards (AQLs).
  • Ensure AQLs are reviewed, maintained and updated according to inspection results.
  • Ensure NCRs are registered correct and complete, the Quarantined units handed to the NCR Store Administrator and the NCR Administrator informed.
  • Ensure the utilization of precision measurement tools, custom gauges and equipment for thorough inspections and that they are calibrated as and when required through interactions with the SHEQ Officer.

Testing and Evaluation:

  • Ensure functional testing of electronic products using established protocols and test jigs.
  • Ensure that test results, against predefined criteria, are reported and recorded, to ensure product functionality.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure that inspections and test results documented accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare and report detailed quality records to track inspection findings and metrics.
