Main Purpose of the Job
The Regional Technical Superintendent provides technical leadership, governance, and oversight across multiple sites within the assigned region. This role ensures that Technical Superintendents deliver consistently against safety, compliance, and operational requirements, while driving technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and adherence to Booyco standards.
This role services Gauteng, Northern Cape and Limpopo areas
Education, experience and competencies
- Matric and Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent technical field.
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in mining/technical field services
- 3–5 years in a Superintendent or Managerial role.
- Strong track record of managing technical teams across multiple sites.
- Medically fit and willing to travel across South Africa
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Technical Superintendents to ensure consistent technical service delivery across sites.
- Enforce accountability for compliance, reporting, and performance standards.
- Support workforce skills development and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with MHSA, OHSA, Section 21, COC files, and other statutory requirements.
- Drive adherence to Booyco’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and BECS compliance reporting.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical investigations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Area Managers and Account Managers.
- Support field teams with advanced technical problem-solving and escalation resolution.
- Oversee the roll-out and compliance of Booyco technical systems and applications
- Act as a technical escalation point for key clients in the region.
- Partner with Area Managers to ensure client expectations are met from both a commercial and technical perspective.
- Build trust and relationships with mine management and regulatory stakeholders.
- Compile regional technical reports for submission to the Regional Manager.
- Monitor performance against KPIs (uptime, response time, compliance audits).
- Ensure all technical records and documentation are accurate, complete, and audit ready.
