Job Description

Booyco Electronics, a leader in proximity detection and collision avoidance technology within the mining sector, is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Product Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced technical professional passionate about product development, customer support, and driving innovation in electronic safety systems.

This role involves technical auditing, product testing, customer demonstrations, and ensuring engineering standards are maintained across installations.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Red Seal Electrical Trade Test
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product management, technical support, or similar role
  • Minimum 3 years in mining support or field services
  • Experience working with electronic systems, safety equipment, and PDS/CAS technology
  • Coding experience is advantageous
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver’s licence

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as the main technical contact for product enquiries
  • Provide detailed product information, specifications, and usage guidance
  • Deliver product training to internal teams and customers
  • Collaborate with R&D to provide customer insights and market feedback
  • Support prototype creation, testing, and verification
  • Participate in product design, functionality and user experience discussions
  • Conduct competitor and market research
  • Analyse data to support product positioning and pricing
  • Maintain product roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Assist sales with customer acquisition and retention
  • Resolve product performance issues and document customer feedback
  • Conduct customer demonstrations and technical discussions
  • Develop user manuals, technical guides, and support documents
  • Deliver product workshops for internal teams and clients
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge bases and troubleshooting guides
  • Support product testing, quality checks, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor product performance and drive corrective actions
  • Conduct site audits, product verifications, and installation inspections
  • Support coding tasks for new product developments (advantageous)
  • Document test results and assist with DFMEA processes
  • Support field technicians with advanced technical training
